My dear Janet has conferred upon me this award. I’m not really sure what it means to inspire a pair of pyjamas. But it’s meant as an honor, I’m sure. ;-) I’m also not sure what I’m supposed to do now, so I’ll ramble on for a bit about pajamas.

If you’ve ever read my 103 Things, you’ll know that I do not like to sleep wearing pjs. However, I do like to buy pajamas– go figure.

February 10/PJ Love

These are my super-flashy Valentine’s Day Love edition pj pants. And yes, Janet, they are red!

I let my son open one Christmas present on Christmas Eve. I get to choose which present. Every year it’s pajamas. My parents did the same thing to us when my siblings and I were kids. One year they bought my older sister and I matching pajamas. They were the kind with feet in them and a flap in the butt. I’m not kidding. To make matters worse, they were made out of terry cloth and striped. Hey, it was the 70′s!

One year my then-husband and I were spending Christmas at his parents’ house. Imagine my surprise on Christmas morning when I opened a package from them and it was pajamas. Not just any pajamas, but a silk nightgown and matching robe. Can you say ewww? It just seemed like a really odd gift to receive from your in-laws.

I grew up watching I Love Lucy reruns.  When I think of pajamas, I always think of the matching sets that they wore– Lucy had the top and Ricky had the bottom.  I always thought that was so cute.  I was puzzled by the fact that they had separate beds, though.

My favorite pajamas are these fantastic crisp RL blue (yes, blue) striped pair that I have.  I even have the matching robe, and I’m  not really a robe person.  I think Brooks Brother’s has the most wonderful pjs ever, but even I’m not paying that much for something that I only wear to sit around and drink coffee on a Saturday morning.

What are your favorite jammies?

I don’t wear pj’s either. My mother did the same thing you do. She got us pj’s every year for christmas and let us open that package on Christmas Eve. That would be the only night I would wear them though. LOL

Hahaha, Lisa! I had the pajamas with the feel in them as a tot and always wore holes on the feet because I’d run into the kitchen so I could “make an entrance” and skid to a stop! I ;earned I could “skid” on rugs too!! Great post. I see you as a Classy PJ Lady, Lisa! Something from the Orient. :)

I refuse to sleep in pajamas! They end up being flung across the room at some point because I can’t stand feeling tangled. As a kid my mom bought me nightgowns, and I hated those. If I DO have to wear something around the house, I do favor the crisp RL pants as well (you’ve seen the link, Lisa – mine are blue, too!). I prefer a nice tagless v-neck on top (the GAP has some great ones).

Wow, more information than you needed to know!

    Congrats!

It worked the same way when we were kids … we were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve and coincidentally it was always pajamas too!

We do the same thing on Christmas Eve as you did, and I did the same when I was a child. Speaking of that, I need to get on the finding of the jammies this year, I hope they don’t run out of Hannah Montanna ones!

I can’t sleep in pj’s – only in t-shirt type nightgowns. But I do have fond memories of my pajamas as a child – so warm and snuggly. When my kids were little, and I played happy homemaker for a few years, I would make them pajamas which was totally fun.
