I have been bombarded with football this week.  I’m not exactly what you’d call a sports fan of any sort.  Certainly not football.  This town is currently obsessed with football, namely the Colts.  I can’t turn on the TV without hearing about Peyton and Eli.  Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.  But all day, the running joke has been ” I think there’s a game on tonight” and other variations on that theme.  It’s driving the boy crazy!  I’m quite skilled at that. :-)

Therefore, I’m woe to admit what’s on my fabulous new LCD HDTV.  Yep, you guessed- Colts vs. Giants.  I will tell you that I did not turn it on.  I know little to nothing about the sport.  That’s by choice.  I purposely purge any information about it that I might somehow glean via various sources.  However, I am not always successful.  My son will say things like, “He’s dancing around in the pocket” and I’ll have no idea what he’s talking about.  However, he knows that he can ask me the name of the new kicker (Vinatieri) that replaced the old one (Vanderjagt.)  Why do I know this?  I heard it on the news. I have an odd sort of memory for obscure information.  I know what outfit I had on at my great-grandfather’s 90th birthday party when I was 4 years old.  I can tell you the street address of many clients from work.  How this is useful to me, I’ve yet to figure out! ;-)
